A spokesperson with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said that Rittenhouse’s attorney paid the $2 million bail set by a judge earlier this month, WTMJ reported.

On Oct. 30, an Illinois judge approved the extradition of Rittenhouse, 17, of Antioch, to Wisconsin to face charges, WDJT reported.

Rittenhouse is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for the death of Anthony Huber, 26, of Silver Lake, Wisconsin; attempted first-degree intentional homicide for the shooting of Gauge Grosskreutz, 26, of West Allis, Wisconsin; and first-degree reckless homicide for the death of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, of Kenosha, according to a criminal complaint.

Rittenhouse is also charged with two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety for shooting his AR-15-style rifle toward other people in a crowd, and with possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.

Rittenhouse turned himself in to police in Antioch the day after the shooting. Records show he tried to surrender to a Kenosha police officer earlier, hours after the shooting; however, he was told to go home.

The shootings occurred during protests in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.

Rittenhouse is expected in court Dec. 3 for a preliminary hearing, WDJT reported.
