BAINVILLE, Mont. — Three people are dead after a shooting at an eastern Montana casino on Saturday, authorities said.
Roosevelt County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Stateline Casino in Bainville at about 5:30 p.m., the Billings Gazette reported.
In a Facebook post, Sheriff Jason Frederick said deputies discovered three people fatally shot, including the suspected shooter.
Frederick added that there is no danger to the public, adding that more information will be released after the victims’ families are notified.
The Stateline Casino, along with the Colby’s Casino nearby, said they would be closed “until further notice.”
“Our entire staff is so grateful and overwhelmed with all of the support,” Stateline said in a Facebook post. “Feeling so thankful for a community of caring people and brave first responders.”
Colby’s, in a Facebook post, wrote, “We appreciate the outpouring of concern, love and support. Our staff and customers are all safe and very thankful to the many emergency (personnel) who responded so quickly.”
Bainville is a small farming town of about 300 people near the North Dakota border. The town has grown over the last decade as activity in the Bakken oil fields has increased, the Gazette reported.
