Around 4 p.m. an officer saw 30 people riding dirt-bikes and ATVs on a public street, speeding and weaving in and out of traffic and ignoring traffic signals, when one of the riders dropped her motorcycle, the Providence Journal reported.

Shyanne Boisvert, 23, dropped her bike at an intersection. When an officer approached her on foot, she pushed him. When the officer tried to handcuff her, several other riders swarmed and circled him in a threatening manner. One of the riders rode over the officer’s legs before fleeing.

Eduardo Rivera, 33, is accused of running over the officer’s legs with his ATV. He led officers on a chase from Cranston to Johnston before crashing into a cruiser. Rivera then hopped onto the back of an ATV driven by Kemoni Mitchell and the pair continued to flee.

Mitchell, 22, later crashed after losing control of the ATV. He is accused of leading police on a chase and striking a passing car.

The officer was treated for his injuries.

Rivera was arrested and charged with felony assault, reckless driving, fleeing an officer in high-speed pursuit and resisting arrest.

Mitchell was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing an officer in high-speed pursuit, possessing crack cocaine, resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct. Mitchell was also cited for possession of marijuana.

Boisvert was arrested and charged with simple assault, reckless driving, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

All three were also cited for motor vehicle violations.
