Teenager arrested, police find loaded rifles in vehicle

Mercer Island Police arrested a 19-year-old Wednesday after finding loaded guns in his car.

Authorities report coming into contact with the 19-year-old Wednesday night in the South Luther Burbank parking lot at around 10:25 p.m.

The man was sitting in a vehicle.

Four other teenagers were in the vehicle with him, police say - two 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds.

The weapons were identified as rifles: an AR15 and a .22 caliber.

The 19-year-old was booked into King County Jail after admitting that he was the owner of the weapons.

He was charged with a felony firearm delivery to ineligible persons.

It is unclear whether he was selling the rifles, authorities say.

The man was also charge with a misdemeanor for having a loaded rifle in a vehicle.

Three of other other juveniles were booked into King County juvenile custody. – one was released to his mother.

They will likely be facing charges of illegal possession of a firearm, police say.
