Surveillance video shows Lake Stevens murder victim with suspect

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — Surveillance video from a Lake Stevens McDonald's shows a victim in a fatal stabbing with a suspect three days before she was killed.

The video shows Phillipa Evans-Lopez, 20, wearing a pink sweatshirt.  She is with Anthony Garver, who is wearing a black sweatshirt.

Evans-Lopez was found dead inside a home June 17. Police said she was stabbed two dozen times and her throat was cut.

Spokane man Garver was arrested July 2 and is charged with first-degree murder in the case.

According to statements made by the suspect, another person joined him and Evans-Lopez between June 13-16. He described the other person as a woman with blonde hair believed to be 18-22 years old.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is asking witnesses to come forward who may have been with Evans-Lopez and Garver on the days and the week prior to her death.
