Woman found dead in home after drive-by shooting

EATONVILLE, Wash. — Deputies in Pierce County are investigating a homicide in Eatonville Monday morning.

At 3:45 a.m., deputies were called to reports of a drive-by shooting in the 30900 block of Webster Road East with a woman down at the address.

Arriving officers discovered a woman in her mid-60s dead inside the bathroom of her home.

Officers say a bullet traveled through the walls and struck her.

The suspects fled in a car, but there is no description at this time.

Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer says six people were home at the time of the shooting, including two children.

Troyer says one of the people at the home has a history with police. He is being questioned in connection with the drive-by shooting.

A neighbor told KIRO 7 reporter Rob Munoz that he heard five shots fired. He says he moved to the area from Kent 10 years ago to get away from crime, but says he believes there are two drug houses in the area.
