Teen arrested in connection to Tacoma pot shop robbery and shooting

A teen has been arrested in connection to the Oct. 28 robbery of a cannabis shop in Tacoma, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

At 2:26 a.m. on Oct. 28, officers responded to a report of an alarm at the shop in the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue.

The alarm company informed 911 dispatchers that an on-scene security guard was reporting an armed robbery with shots fired.

When officers arrived, they discovered that three vehicles had pulled up to the front of the business, with one of the vehicles driving directly through the front doors.

Multiple suspects ran into the store and started to throw product into bags.

As the suspects left, a security guard exchanged gunfire with them.

One of the suspects may have sustained a gunshot wound.

All of the suspects fled the area in one of the vehicles or ran off on foot.

The security guard was not injured.

Detectives determined one of the suspects was a 17-year-old male teen, who was arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail.

The teen will be tried as an adult on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle.
