A Superior Court judge for Pacific and Wahkiakum counties is retiring at the end of this year.
Last week, Judge Douglas Goelz wrote a letter to Gov. Jay Inslee about his decision to resign from his position.
Goelz has served as a judge for 30 years in Pacific County and two years for Wahkiakum County.
“It has been a great honor and privilege to serve as the Superior Court Judge for these counties,” Goelz wrote. “I have spent much of my professional life dedicated to public service, to protecting the public, to preserving the integrity of the law and the credibility of the courts and to justice.”
