SEATTLE — Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is now a father to a baby boy.
Sherman, whose number is 25, tweeted that his son arrived on 2/5.
"My son sure does know how to make an entrance! 2/5/15... Is it a coincidence or is he just that clever?! Either way I'm ecstatic!" it said.
There had been concerns that Sherman’s girlfriend could give birth on Super Bowl Sunday.
Carroll said during a joint press conference with New England Coach Bill Belichick on Friday that family comes first and "if (Sherman) is faced with that decision, we'll support him." Carroll also added, "I can't wait to see little Petey."
A tweet from Sports Illustrated said the boy's name was Rayden.
