2 JBLM soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Two Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldiers were killed last week after being wounded by an enemy improvised explosive device, the base said in a news release.

First Lt. Sean Jacobs, 23, from Redding, California, was on his first deployment. Sgt. John Hansen, 41, of Austin, Texas, was also killed. This was his second deployment after heading to Iraq from 2007 to 2009.

Both were part of the 2^nd Stryker Brigade.
