Police: Man shows up at Western State Hospital with woman's body in car

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Seattle police say a man drove to Western State Hospital with the body of his girlfriend in his car on Sunday, confessed to murder and asked to be committed.

Hospital staff called 911 Sunday after speaking with the man.

Investigators said when Lakewood police arrived, the 29-year-old man told officers that he killed his 24-year-old girlfriend and that her body was still in his parked car.

Officers called for detectives after finding the body, which showed signs of trauma, in his car as he claimed.

Upon questioning, the man told detectives that he had murdered his girlfriend in North Seattle, according to police.

Lakewood detectives called Seattle police homicide detectives, who confirmed that the murder occurred in Seattle and took over the investigation.

Seattle detectives booked the man into King County Jail on murder charges.
