Zoo Doo to be available again at Woodland Park Zoo

After pushing out Zoo Doo for nearly 40 years, the coveted nutrient-filled doo will be available for purchase Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Woodland Park Zoo.

A makeover to the Zoo Doo composting system was completed in 2019, making it possible for the GM of BM, as the Woodland Park Zoo calls it, to make more of the compost year-round.

The Woodland Park Zoo has also lovingly nicknamed the compost system Dr. Doo, the Princess of Poo and the Captain of Caca.

The Zoo Doo that will be available for purchase is also used by the zoo’s horticulture team in the animal habitats and other landscaped areas.

Zoo Doo is composed of species feces from many of the zoo’s non-primate herbivores, like the tapirs, pudus, mountain goats, rhinos, hippos, giraffes and zebras.

So, you too can get new pudu Zoo Doo! Woo!

Zoo Doo will be available for pickup at the zoo on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Go to zoo.org/zoodoo/order to book a pickup, pay with a credit card and receive instructions for pickup.

Pint containers will also be available at the zoo’s ZooStores or order online at zoostore.zoo.org.
