ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Washington State Patrol troopers are searching for a driver who opened fire at a truck on I-90 in Issaquah.
No one was injured.
The shooting happened around 11 am Tuesday, just after the victim entered the interstate from Front Street.
“If someone is willing to do this, capable of firing a shot at another vehicle, who is to say that they are not going to do it again?” Trooper Rick Johnson of WSP said. “We want to hold them accountable.”
Images shared by WSP show the truck, a Ford F-650 hauling a box trailer, with damage to the rear tire.
According to investigators, the suspect fired a single shot and sped off.
“The truck was just simply going slow, and the other person appeared to have gotten frustrated,” Johnson said.
According to investigators, the suspect was driving a gray Infiniti G37.
He reportedly flashed his gun at the victim before the shooting.
WSP is asking the public for any information on the car or its driver.
“We want any camera, any information that somebody may have so we can identify this vehicle and move this case forward,” Johnson said.
The shooting happened in the westbound lanes of I-90, somewhere between SR-900 and the West Lake Sammamish Parkway exit.
“Lot of crazies out there,” Scott Swarts, who lives in Issaquah, said.
Neighbors KIRO 7 spoke to were shocked to hear about an incident like this in normally quiet Issaquah.
“Anything violent like that, it’s a rare event,” Swarts said. “Which is a good thing.”
WSP is asking anyone who was in the area and has a dash cam to check their footage.
