TUKWILA, Wash. — Heads up to drivers near the airport this weekend.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close two lanes and the HOV lane on southbound I-405 in Tukwila, affecting travel to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The southbound I-405 HOV off-ramp to northbound I-405 will also close.
“Travelers heading to the airport should plan for longer travel times and expect congestion on southbound I-405,” WSDOT wrote.
The I-405/Northeast 85th (at exit 18) Street interchange in Kirkland will also close overnight on Thursday, Oct.1 and through the weekend, Oct. 2-5.
Northeast 85th Street will also close between Sixth Street and 120th Avenue Northeast during these times.
Detours will be in place. Crews will pave Northeast 85th Street as part of the I-405/Northeast 85th Street Interchange and Inline BRT Station Project, according to WSDOT.
