SAMMAMISH, Wash. — A woman’s body was found in a pond in Sammamish’s Rainbow Lake Ridge neighborhood Wednesday night in what police said appeared to be an accident.
Officers said a woman in her 60s left a note for her family that she was going for a walk in the area.
When she didn’t return and missed a doctor appointment, her husband became concerned, and the woman’s family started a search.
Her son found his mother’s body in about 5 feet of water, officers said.
Investigators said it appears she was sitting on the bank and slipped into the water.
