PARKLAND, Wash. — A woman sleeping in her Parkland apartment was hit by gunfire from outside her building Tuesday morning.
Deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department were called to the apartment complex in the 2400 block of 96th Street South at 3:56 a.m., where a 63-year-old woman had been shot.
She was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threating injuries.
Investigators said the gunshots came from outside her apartment and evidence is being collected at the scene.
So far, no witnesses or suspects have been identified.
