Arriving officers were met outside by a woman in her 30s who said her former boyfriend had attacked her inside the house.  She said she then fled with her two children, who are about ages 8 and 13, as the man set the living room on fire.

As the man exited the house, police officers noticed smoke billowing out of the front door.  By the time the man was taken into custody, the house was fully involved in flames.

Firefighters responded.  Video from Chopper 7 showed firefighters cutting holes in the roof to vent the flames.

The extent of the damage is not yet known and the incident is under investigation.
