Seattle woman looking to crochet animal hats discovers kilo of cocaine

SEATTLE — Around 3 p.m. on Sunday, a Seattle woman entered a business within the 730 block of N. 95 St. in the Greenwood neighborhood where she purchased a kit to crochet animal hats.

After she opened the kit, there was a suspiciously heavy item wrapped in yellow rubber with “100%” written on the outside. The package also gave off an odd odor.

The woman immediately dialed 911. Officers responded and took possession of the package, later determining the substance to be a kilo of cocaine.

The package was then placed into evidence.
