Woman killed, man hurt in shooting at North Seattle motel

SEATTLE — Seattle police are at the scene of a fatal shooting outside a motel on Aurora Avenue North.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a report of shots fired at the Everspring Inn on Aurora at North 82nd Street.

Officers arrived to find a woman dead in the parking lot, Mark Jamieson with Seattle police said. And injured man drove himself to Harborview Medical Center where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are working at the scene.

Only one southbound lane of Aurora is open. Northbound traffic is not affected.
