Seattle police are investigating a deadly shooting in Belltown, the second in the span of less than two hours overnight.
Just before 2 a.m., detectives were called to 3rd Ave and Blanchard St. for reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a woman inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to the head and torso.
The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. She later succumbed to her injuries, according to SPD.
According to police, an early investigation indicates that the woman was sitting in the parked vehicle and a suspect fired several shots inside the car.
The suspect is not currently in custody.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what led up to the shooting. It’s unclear if the victim and suspect knew each other.
