Wild Waves closing for good after Labor Day

Wild Waves Theme Park

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Wild Waves in Federal Way is shutting down for good.

Labor Day is the final day that guests can splash around the water park.

The theme park side will remain open through November 1. Booville, a family-friendly Halloween event, opens on September 26. Fright Fest will open the following week for those brave enough to enter. The event will transform the park into scare zones and haunted houses.

Wild Waves opened in the 1970s as The Enchanted Village. The water park portion opened later in the 1980s.

In December, Premier Parks LLC announced the closure of Wild Waves, citing rising costs.

Documents filed with the city of Federal Way show plans to transform the site into a massive industrial warehouse.
