Washington State Fair returns this year

PUYALLUP, Wash. — The Washington State Fair is back.

Organizers announced Thursday morning that it will be welcoming back guests, staff and vendors this September.

The fair was canceled last year due to the pandemic, the first time it had been canceled since World War II.

This year’s event will take place from Sept. 3 to 26.

Throughout the year, the state fairgrounds hosted drive-thru events.

“Thanks to all guests who have supported our unique events over the past year. We’re excited to welcome you back in September,” organizers said.

Officials are emphasizing that safety will remain a top priority for guests, staff and vendors. “We will ensure those who join us — and those who work for us — feel secure in knowing we are doing our part in keeping the grounds clean, practicing [regular] cleaning of high-touch areas, providing hand-washing and sanitizing regularly.”

The fair hasn’t announced details on admission, ride and concert sales but will have updates on its website: www.thefair.com.
