King County restaurants are throwing fundraisers to help rescue efforts and victims affected from catastrophic flooding at the Nepal-China border.
Kathmandu MomoCha in Seattle’s South Lake Union says every dollar will be matched for meals purchased this Friday and Saturday.
The restaurant’s flyer says proceeds collected from the two-day fundraiser will be donated to Nepal’s Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.
“Even though I’m far away from my people, we can do something for the people in need over there,” said Mandira Dangul, owner of Kathmandu MomoCha
At Aahaar an Indian Eatery in Snoqualmie, owner Ramya Balachandran says her Taste of Hope fundraiser, which was started for Spokane fire victims, has been revived to help relief efforts in Nepal.
“This effort is very close to our hearts,” said Ramya Balachandran.
From now through Sunday, Balachandran says her fundraiser will donate 80% of every mango lassi, vegetable samosa, butter chicken or their combination package to GlobalGiving.
