Washington is being hit the hardest in a salmonella outbreak linked to recalled broccoli sprouts.

Washington has reported 24 cases, followed by Montana with four and Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Minnesota with one each, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Broccoli sprouts, seeds recalled

Four products have been recalled in connection with the outbreak.

Gardeners Basics one-pound bags of broccoli sprouting seeds were sold nationwide through Amazon, gardenersbasics.com, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, and Etsy.

Eden Brothers’ Calabrese broccoli seeds were sold to customers nationwide through Edenbrothers.com and Amazon.com between July 8 and Sept. 28.

Home Grown green sprouting Calabrese broccoli seeds were sold to consumers nationwide through Amazon between Aug. 20 and Sept. 18.

Evergreen Fresh Sprouts, LLC-brand broccoli sprouts are past the expiration date and are no longer available for sale.

Consumers, restaurants, and retailers should not use the recalled seeds and should clean and sanitize surfaces or containers that came into contact with the recalled products, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated.

The FDA said consumers who have symptoms of a salmonella infection should contact their health care provider.
