If you’re taking an Air Canada flight soon, saying “representative” enough times on the airline’s phone menu will cost you.

The airline started charging a $30 fee for reservations booked with a live human. The fee is per ticket, so if you’re buying a pair of seats, that’ll cost you $60.

The fee is non-refundable, even if you cancel the ticket.

Air Canada made the change because it wants customers to use its website or app to book flights.

“Our digital tools make it easy to plan and manage your trip, access travel information and receive real-time updates throughout your journey,” the airline’s website states.

There are a few exceptions to the rule. Customers who require specialized care and support, including those with accessibility needs, are exempt from the booking fee.

There’s also no fee to call for support with existing reservations, or to book new ones if delays or cancelations impact your itinerary.
