The estranged husband of the late Mary Kay Letourneau, Vili Fualaau, was arrested on a suspected DUI in Snohomish County early Saturday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, just before 4 a.m. Fualaau was driving erratically northbound on Interstate 5 and nearly struck a marked Seattle police car near 85th street.
The Seattle Police made a traffic stop near Interstate 5 and 405 where they called in the Washington State Patrol.
According to report from TMZ, Fualaau had bloodshot eyes and performed poorly in a field sobriety test.
After he submitted to a voluntary breath test, Fualaau was arrested and booked for DUI in Snohomish County.
According to booking information, Fualaau was released Tuesday afternoon at 1:28 p.m.
Fualaau is the former student of Mary Kay Letourneau, who was convicted of raping the 12-year-old Fualaau and later marrying him.
Letourneau died of cancer last July.
