Vacant building burns in Seattle neighborhood of Belltown

The Seattle Fire Department was on the scene of a reported apartment fire in the Belltown area of Seattle on Thursday morning, according to pictures from the scene.

The fire occurred in the 2000 block of Second Avenue, near Bell Street, around 4:30 a.m.

Traffic was blocked on all westbound lanes of Bell Street from Third Avenue to First Avenue as firefighters battled the blaze.

According to the fire department, people were removed from the building.

At one point, firefighters were worried about a possible collapse.

Just before 6 a.m. the 2-alarm blaze was under control.

There were no reported injuries.
