SEATAC, Wash. — Tyee High School in SeaTac was put on lockdown Monday morning when a student brought a gun to school, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Highline School District reported no immediate threat just before 9 a.m.
Law enforcement reported security got the gun away from the student before he entered the building.
The school administration said it learned that the student suspect posted photos on social media with a weapon and was greeted and searched before entering the school.
School officials said as a precautionary measure the school was put on lockdown as police and security looked for a friend of the student suspect.
Officials said that friend was not on the campus and the lockdown was lifted.
Officers are investigating the incident.
