Two men are dead after a shooting at The Landing in Renton on Monday afternoon, according to the Renton Police Department.
At about 2:39 p.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired outside the Regal Cinemas.
When officers arrived, they found two men dead.
Witnesses told police the shooting may have been a homicide/suicide.
“We have eyewitness accounts that … the first man pulled out a gun, shot the second multiple times, then walked a short distance away,” said Detective Robert Onishi. “And then he shot himself and both were pronounced dead at the scene.”
KIRO 7 spoke to a witness who described people running from the scene when the shots rang out.
“It was inital panic … no one knows what’s going on,” said Patrick Ward. “Ladies were screaming, saying, you know, ‘you need to run, there’s an active shooter.’”
Police believe this was a targeted incident and the two men involved were known to each other.
Officers do not believe there is any further threat to the public at this time.
