PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The ramp from northbound Interstate 5 to State Route 167 in Pierce County was fully blocked for several hours Thursday because of an overturned dump truck.
Commuters who needed to access SR-167 from I-5 were able to use the Portland Avenue exit.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the back-left tire of the trailer ruptured, causing the driver to lose control.
The truck spilled dirt all over the ramp.
A tow truck arrived quickly to remove the truck. No word on whether there were any injuries.
The dump truck is back on its wheels. We estimate another hour for the closure. pic.twitter.com/A6cBcXM3PE
