Troopers looking for driver in Sumner hit-and-run crash that injured woman

SUMNER, Wash. — A woman has serious injuries after she was involved in a hit-and-run crash with another driver in Sumner Tuesday morning.

At about 6:30 a.m., the victim, a 42-year-old Bonney Lake woman, was driving a white Honda Accord westbound on State Route 410. She was in the center lane approaching the interchange ramp to State Route 167.

A dark-colored car was entering westbound SR 410 from Traffic Avenue, merging from the right lane to the center lane. The car hit the Accord on its passenger side, which forced the Honda into the left lane, where it hit a cement mixer truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Honda spun around in front of the cement truck and hit the concrete barrier dividing the eastbound and westbound lanes of SR 410.

The driver of the dark-colored car did not stop and kept heading westbound.

So far, witnesses haven’t been able to give investigators a description of the fleeing car’s make, model, style, color or anyone who was inside.

Anyone who has information about the fleeing driver or their car is asked to call WSP Det. Travis Calton at 360-918-4032.
