TACOMA, Wash — An outdoor art exhibit titled “Trolls: A Field Study,” created by artist Thomas Dambo, will open Oct. 15 across two animal parks, featuring 12 troll sculptures on display through Jan. 24.
Point Defiance Zoo (PDZA) will host four of the troll sculptures, while its sister facility, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, will display eight sculptures as part of the installation, said PDZA.
Among the sculptures arriving at PDZA is Larke the Mask Troll, which can be found near the polar bear habitat.
The sculpture features a unique hat designed as a reflection of human individuality.
PDZA says the character of Larke takes time to observe the weather, birds, and changing seasons, offering a reminder that nature has its own rhythm that cannot be rushed.
The exhibit is scheduled to open Oct. 15 and will remain on display through Jan. 24.
