Thurston County Sheriff’s Office searches for suspect in Tenino shooting

Thurston County Sheriff's Office

In a press release Saturday, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said it was looking for a suspect who, they said, shot a man during an argument in Tenino Friday.

According to the statement, deputies responded to the 2600 block of Angus Drive SE in Tenino shortly before 6 pm Friday after a man called 911 and told dispatchers that he had been shot by a person he knew.

The office said the 58-year-old victim had been shot in the arm and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover.

In the statement, the office said that both the suspect and the victim lived on the same property but in different residences. They believe the victim was shot after the two got into an argument that had lasted most of the day before the victim was shot.

The sheriff’s office is still looking for the suspect, who they say was last seen fleeing the area in a gold SUV.

Deputies have identified the man they are looking for as a 69-year-old who is roughly 5′7″ and weighs 190 lbs.

The office is asking anyone with information to call dispatch’s non-emergency line.
