A 16-year-old boy was shot in a drive-by shooting at a Renton apartment complex Sunday night.
Officers responded to a reported shooting and found the boy in the driver's seat of a car that had crashed into a parked van in the 600 block of SW 5th Court.
He was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Two male passengers in the car were uninjured. They told police that they and the victim had come to the apartment to meet another man. When they arrived, they were approached by two other men. The three in the car tried to flee. As the driver tried to leave, one or both of the men who had approached the car fired multiple shots.
The victim's car struck the van and the two suspects fled. They were described as young men in their late teens or early 20s.
The investigation is ongoing.
