Suspected robber shot and killed in Capitol Hill

SEATTLE — A 24-year-old man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning and police are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery.

Seattle police arrived at 1:12 a.m. to investigate the shooting in the 1000 block of East John Street and found a man on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.

Officers provided medical aid to the man; however, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives interviewed a 39-year-old man at the scene who told police he opened fire when the 24-year-old attempted to rob him.
