SEATTLE — Thinking about a trip to the Emerald City soon?

A new study ranked Seattle as the second best city in the country to take a weekend trip to where visitors don’t need a car.

LawnStarter ranked 150 U.S. cities in terms of COVID-19 safety and ability to get around without a car and Seattle came out almost on top, behind its West Coast neighbor San Francisco.

The cities were ranked based on availability of leisure options, biking friendliness and COVID-19 vaccination rates, among other things.

Oakland, Portland and Madison round out the rest of the top five.

LawnStarter ranked Memphis, Birmingham, Montgomery, Shreveport and Mobile as the worst cities for carless weekend trips.
