Starbucks relaxes its dress code

Photo from Starbucks.com

Your favorite Starbucks barista may be wearing something new Monday.

Rather than the familiar solid black, white and khaki clothing underneath green aprons, the Seattle-based coffee giant is relaxing the dress code so baristas can, in their words, shine as individuals.

Gray, navy, dark denim and brown shirts are now allowed, including patterns.

And baristas can now wear shorts, skirts, dresses and dark-wash jeans.

Even hats are allowed and employees are invited to "make a statement with their hair color," according to Starbucks.

Employees must still wear their green apron and present a neat and professional appearance.
