One in custody after standoff at Bellevue College

BELLEVUE, Wash. — An armed man was taken into custody after a standoff at Bellevue College.

Police worked to remove the man who barricaded himself inside a vehicle on the college campus.

Officials tweeted about 7:10 p.m. that they were negotiating with a distraught man in his 60s.

The vehicle, which was in a parking lot at the campus, was surrounded by law enforcement, officials said.

Officials said the campus was closed and anyone on campus during the standoff who needed to leave, could go through the south and main exits.

At about 10:25 p.m., police tweeted, “The situation has ended successfully.”
