Two Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies rescued a driver who was trapped inside a burning car just moments before it was engulfed in flames.
On October 14, just after 10 p.m., the pair was called to a crash in unincorporated Arlington.
The sheriff’s office says a driver crashed into a wooded area and their car caught on fire.
The deputies made their way down a hillside and pulled the driver to safety. He could barely walk, to the deputies supported the driver and carried him up the hill.
While waiting for medics, the driver stopped breathing. The deputies immediately began CPR and continued for about seven minutes help arrived. The driver was resuscitated and taken to a nearby hospital.
“The quick thinking and decisive actions of Deputies Pavlina and Goldsmith saved a life and reflect the highest traditions of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office,” staff shared.
