SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Skagit County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 78-year-old Peter Kalapaca who went missing Thursday while hiking on the Sauk Mountain Trail.
According to the office, the Kalapaca was last seen by his family near the top of the Sauk Mountain Trail around 12:30 pm Thursday, before they were separated.
Deputies say an “extensive” search was conducted Thursday by teams on the ground and in the air, but Kalapaca was not found
When he was last seen, he was wearing a yellow shirt, yellow hat, and blue jeans. He had limited food and water and was not prepared to stay in the area overnight.
Anyone who may have seen the missing hiker or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office at 360-428-3211.
