Shots fired while officer responds to call in Bonney Lake

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. — Gunshots were fired in Bonney Lake while an officer was responding to a call about a car Wednesday morning.

The Bonney Lake officer was called to a parking lot at 198th and SR 410. At 9:08 a.m., the officer called out on the radio that shots had been fired, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

It is not yet known who fired the shots.

Deputies and officers from neighboring jurisdictions are looking for a suspect.

It is not yet known whether anyone was hit by the gunfire, but a tweet from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said the officer involved is okay.
