SHORELINE, Wash. — A shooting that occurred outside the Spartan Recreation Center in Shoreline prompted a large police presence on Thursday evening.
Just before 6 p.m., officers were called to the area of the 200 block of Northeast 185th Street for a report of a man walking down the street with a gun.
Minutes later, officers received additional information about a shooting in the same area.
When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot and then detained another man.
Deputies said it was an accidental shooting. One of the men was playing with a gun, which went off and hit his friend.
The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
Law enforcement said the gun was recovered.
When Chopper 7 flew over the scene, two people were spotted talking with law enforcement.
Authorities said there was a threat to the public.
