SEATTLE — If you saw Guy Fieri’s red Camaro recently rolling through Seattle – you weren’t imagining things. He was actually here!
A taco shop in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood is being featured on the Food Network’s ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ show.
It will air on Friday, September 11 at 9 p.m.
Lupe’s Situ Tacos confirmed the rumors on social media.
“The cat’s out of the bag. Yes, he came to our shop,” the owner shared. “What ensued was a wild, hilarious, and altogether unexpectedly strange day, that needed to end in us closing for a mandatory staff party to debrief in a margarita-filled pool.”
The shop is hosting a watch party at its back bar, Tilda’s Lounge, for customers who’d like to participate.
“Big thanks to the crew at @citizenpictures , who were a joy to work with and loved our food. And big thanks to the Seattle community for understanding that we needed to be closed for a day and a half,” the owner wrote.
Situ is Arabic for grandmother. The owner says her grandmother raised her in the kitchen, starting at the age of three.
“Learning how to make and sew these tacos, was a rite of passage for me when I was young, and I’ve been doing it ever since,” her website reads.
