Seattle Pride going virtual for Pride events this year

SEATTLE — This year Seattle Pride is going virtual for the LGBTQIA+ Pride celebration on June 26 and 27 at SeattlePride.org.

The musical performances, which are typically part of Seattle Pride in the Park at Volunteer Park, will be available online from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m each day.

The announced lineup features a variety of queer artists, all hosted by drag queen Betty Wetter and DJ dark wiley.

Headlining the festivities is the New Orleans-based hip-hop artist Big Freedia.

A worldwide ambassador of bounce music, Big Freedia was featured on the Grammy award-winning single, “Formation” and Drake’s “Nice For What.” Her reality show, “Big Freedia Bounces Back,” remains the highest rated original series on Fuse TV. She also has her own brand of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, “Big Freedia’s Bouncin’ Beignets,” released in the summer of 2019. She’s been on the cover of Billboard and even authored her own memoir, “Big Freedia: God Save the Queen Diva!”

The lineup is scheduled to also include these artists:

  • Mary Lambert
  • Perfume Genius
  • mxmtoon
  • Simone Pin
  • Seattle Ladies Choir
  • Cookie Couture

More musical performers and speakers will be announced next month.
