Seattle police arrested two men who allegedly carjacked a woman at gunpoint and pistol-whipped and robbed a man on Wednesday.
According to the Seattle Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a report of a carjacking along Rainier Avenue South at around 3 p.m.
The victim told police that she was meeting up with an acquaintance to exchange some property when the person she met up with yanked her from her sedan. The acquaintance, who was with another man, allegedly pushed her to the ground before the two men took off in the woman’s white Nissan.
While responding, officers heard about a second armed robbery along Claremont Avenue South. Officers believe that after stealing the Nissan, the two suspects pistol-whipped a 33-year-old man and stole his power tools.
Police found one of the suspects, a 29-year-old man, in a grocery store parking lot along Rainier Avenue South. Police say he got into a fight with store security while being arrested.
Police found the second suspect, a 43-year-old man, walking near the grocery store parking lot. Officers arrested him and recovered stolen property from the second robbery.
Police determined that both suspects used “realistic replica pistols” during the crimes.
Officers booked both suspects into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
