SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle homicide detectives are investigating a shooting in the Lake City neighborhood that left one man dead and a woman injured Wednesday night.
At 5:21 p.m., 911 dispatchers received reports of a shooting in the 12000 block of 33rd Avenue Northeast.
When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers provided first aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived.
Both victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The woman remains hospitalized in a stable condition and is being held for investigation of assault.
According to police, the shooting followed an altercation involving a third man, who ran from the scene shortly after the incident.
The suspect has not yet been located.
Detectives are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
