SEATTLE, Wash. — A Seattle nonprofit is combining beauty and fundraising to help human trafficking survivors rebuild their lives.

Hair Wars brings hairstylists together for a cosmetics competition featuring models on a runway. Proceeds from the ticketed event benefit Justice and Soul, a local nonprofit that helps pay for trafficking survivors to go to school.

Organizers say the program can give survivors an opportunity to learn and make changes in their lives.

“It’s just fantastic to see how you can inspire and change somebody’s life, not just when they sit in your chair, but being the person behind the chair,” one participant told KIRO 7.

You can learn more about the event and how to donate to Justice and Soul on their website.

As of Sunday afternoon, tickets to the in-person event were sold out. The organization also sells tickets to live stream the event.
