Second Seattle Mayoral debate set for Oct. 28

SEATTLE — The Seattle City Club and the Washington State Debate Coalition are set to host a second Seattle mayoral debate with candidates Lorena Gonzalez and Bruce Harrell on Oct. 28.

The debate is to be held on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 7-8 p.m. at the Cascade Public Media studios, hosted by KIRO’s Essex Porter. It will focus on major policy issues like public health and safety.

The first debate was on Thursday, Oct. 14 from 7-8 p.m., hosted by KOMO’s Mary Nam, and focused on the economy.

“We are fortunate to have such a talented group of local journalists participate in this year’s debates,” said Whitney Keyes, executive director of Seattle City Club. “Both Essex and Mary are well-versed in the policy issues and prepared to guide this year’s mayoral candidates through the debates, along with our panel of veteran journalists. Their collective knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting the city will help voters better know these two candidates before selecting the new mayor of Seattle.”

KIRO 7 plans to stream the event at KIRO7.com and air the Oct. 28 debate on KIRO 7.
