SEATTLE, Wash. — With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, the Seahawks are making moves to bolster their offense.
The Seahawks announced Tuesday that they have acquired veteran guard Quenton Nelson from the Indianapolis Colts, in exchange for two draft picks.
In his eight seasons with the Colts, Nelson was selected to the Pro Bowl every single year and has received first-team All-Pro honors three times.
If Nelson passes his physical, the Seahawks will send a 2027 third-round and a 2028 fifth-round NFL draft pick to the Colts.
Nelson will add some much-needed depth to their offensive line, who have struggled to establish their running game and have allowed Sam Darnold to be sacked 14 times in six games.
Not to mention, the Seahawks will be provided with multiple compensatory draft picks in this year’s draft, due to several players, including Kenneth Walker III, Riq Woolen, Coby Bryant, and Boye Mafe, leaving the team in free agency in the off-season. The Seahawks will also receive a third-round compensatory pick after former assistant general manager Nolan Teasley joined the Minnesota Vikings as their general manager.
To make room for Nelson, the Seahawks have released guard Christian Haynes from their 53-man roster. Haynes stepped in for Anthony Bradford after the experienced guard went on injured reserve earlier this season.
