RENTON, Wash. — If the Seahawks want to improve their future, they must battle against their past.

Former Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch, now a member of the Oakland Raiders, is playing against his old team at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday.

KIRO 7’s Steve Raible sat down with Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to talk about the memories he has of winning a Super Bowl with “Beast Mode.”

"He stepped up so many times on a big block, and a big situation, to protect me so I can get the ball off. Whatever it may be, (Lynch would make it happen),” said Wilson. “The cool thing about Marshawn too is, when you watch him in the backfield, you know, some of his footwork is just so unique in how he hops in a hole (and) hops out of it. He's pretty special in that way."

"He looks really good,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. “He looks healthy and aggressive. It’s a well-rounded offense for him, with Tom Cable there as well, knowing how to bring out his strengths.”

As the Seahawks and Raiders prepare for a very long flight to London, Carroll talked about the challenges of getting ready for this huge football game in England.

"(We’ll) try to sleep on the way over and keeping them up the day we get there so they can get a regular night's sleep,  real healthy night's sleep, without going to sleep during the day,” said Carroll. “That's one of the big issues."

Seahawks running back Chris Carson said he's a little concerned about being jet-lagged for the game.

"We're in a new environment so maintaining the focus and keeping our mindset on the Raiders will be the biggest thing,” said Carson.
